Happy 18th July!: Let 'em eat cake...

A few of my favorite people are celebrating their birthday today:

Imini emandi kuwe to the perpetually humane against all odds Nelson Mandela, Happy Birthday to Sir Nick Faldo (whose super-fluid golf swing I tried in vain to copy when I was younger), and Viel Glück zum Geburtstag to Prof. Hartmut Michel (the wizard of membrane proteins crystallization) and to the always artistically refreshing Bulgarian mezzo-soprano Vesselina Kasarova!

congratulations to them and a big virtual hug to you mister Smorg

hey! we got soooo lost to make it to the Liszt concert at the Neuroscience Institute on Sunday, my mom & I wanted to cry because we couldn't make it, i need a GPS, but the association of the Athenaeum are wonderful people!! I told them my litany of despair and they are letting us in, without charging for new tickets to the part III of the series!! still Gustavo Romero, still just Liszt pieces, just different ones!! now I will be camping there from Saturday night ;)

Hiya Eyes:
I wish, matie! :oD They are all outrageously busy folks, though, and quite well publicized already (not that I wouldn't try to interview them once I get around to thinking up something fun to ask, though). ;o)

Hola bella Bere!
Hope your weekend has started beautifully, too. Glad to hear they aren't giving you a hard time and that you'll get to hear part III. :oD I got lost the first few times I tried to find a building in the UCSD complex, too. The place is huge!

I'm on dog-watching duty again this weekend. Looking forward to some time off next week. I think I inadvertently elbowed a bee or something, but my right elbow's been acting inflamed for the last week or so. Just a few more days and I'll get to move into the bath tub and soak myself silly. ;o)

Btw, are you going to ComiCon this weekend?

Hi PJ:
Thanks for stopping by! It was a pleasure discovering your blog a few days ago, too. Nugget is one handsome canine! :oD
