Faketown Inhabitants

There was a fake dog occupying the fake doghouse at the mocked up hotel...

The fake dog apparently has a fake cat bodyguard lurking around somewhere looking for blood...

Sometimes they go out in search of flavory fake pork chops...

being guided on the way by fake pedestrians...

This is how you know you live in Southern California in the 2000's... Practically everything is fake!

Hola Bere! Glad you got a chuckle out of it, matie. :oD That fake ped in downtown LA tickled me pink, too. Then the dude in the photo turned around, saw the camera and started posing. LA is full of surprises (though I still like SD better). :oD

Hi Smorg! How goes your summer? Here, in Madrid we're having a hot weather but soon I will go to Lleida, close to Barcelona, to work the land (full of sweet fruits) with my father. I hope to visit your Country next year.

Best wishes to you.

Regards,

WF

P.D. Have you ever seen Indigo Girls? I don't know how to bring them to Barcelona ;-)

Hiya WF!
Summer started out a bit too summerly last week, but it seems we're having a brief cool down now and I'm loving it. :oD I'm out of town sitting another dog at the moment. He is older, but a real sweetheart; he follows me everywhere and sits blocking the door/gate, then barks at passing dog walkers with a countertenor-ish yelp. There's a black and white cat sitting on the yard fence at the moment trying to decide what to think of the dog. I'd go say hello but I have a feeling she'd jump off into the neighbor's yard if I get too close. Cats!

Hey, working the land with your dad sounds awesome! :o) My dad isn't much of a green thump (people who likes working the land/garden), but my mom is crazy about her orchid corner of the backyard. Of course, one can't eat orchids... so that isn't as much fun. ;o)

I think I'll be moving back to the Midwest late this year, so when you come to the USA I'll likely be in Missouri. Would love to buy you a beer or something! :oD

I;ve never seen Indigo Girls live, but I see they're coming to San Diego later this month (on the 27th). If I'm in town I'll try to catch them (and tell them they need to start doing concert in Spain!). :oD Are they one of your favorite bands?

Thanks a bunch for stopping by, amiga. Hope all is going well with you and yours. Have a great time in Lleida, too!

Hola Bere!
Oy, I just missed you and your mom by 24 hrs! I went to the organ pavillion Sunday night for the free concert by the San Diego Symphony instead. Didn't know about the Monday nite concert. :o( Gotta catch you before I skip town for good indeed. I'm afraid I'm out of town from this weekend until the next one, though.

The good news is it seems I won't have to scoot to the Midwest until the end of the year, so we should be able to meet up before then. :oD

Have fun at the piano recital! Are you blogging about that afterward? (wink. wink. nod. nod. ;o) )

Thank you for your lovely message. And yes, about rock and country music, Indigo Girls is one of my favourite bands, like kd lang, Melissa Etheridge, Amy Ray and Dwight Yoakam (Johnny Cash, too, but he sounds so sad sometimes...). But about classic music, I have another big list and about early music, another one... etc. I couldn't live without music and literature.

Actually, we (my father, another man and me) are piking (or harvest, in english?) peaches and pears, soon apple...

I have an email (etresange@gmail.com). Maybe we can share more about our cultures!

Have a great weekend,

WF
